5th June Community Day

Hi Everyone,

Now that we are officially in winter it is time for some serious quilting to keep us warm during the cooler months. It was good to see the Community quilts out and being worked at each of the tables and I love that our group takes the time to support those who need assistance with a quilt to brighten their day.

Thank you to everyone who helped with the cutting and sewing of fabric for our Raffle quilt and to those who made and stitched the appliqué - it is truely amazing what our group has accomplished over the past 4 weeks. Today we were industrious with the pinning of our Raffle quilt and starting the hand quilting. We will be looking for volunteers to participate in the quilting process.

Marie K completed a quilt for Community 

It is with great sadness that I must inform our members of the passing of a beloved life member and friend Gill who passed away last night. Gill had been an active member up until recently and she was always stitching by hand a community quilt with the ladies at her table or helping out with ideas for Waggas. She was an amazing lady who loved her family, was a real “foodie” and lived her life as best as she could. We will miss her eloquent words, cooking tips and her willingness to help others at quilting. I had the opportunity to send her a card the other week conveying to her how we valued her friendship and missed her attending quilting on a Thursday. We will keep you informed of Gill’s funeral via our WhatsApp group.

Sydney Craft & Quilt Fair

The Fair will be held at the ICC Darling Harbour on 25-29 June. 

Mid Week Retreat

Our mid week Retreat is at North Ryde RSL Club, 27-41 Magdala Road, North Ryde on Tuesday and Wednesday 9th - 10th September from 10am - 5pm. Come and enjoy the fun at our Retreat.
