29th May (cont)

Ah yes, well the photos jumped around all over the place, seemingly at their own pleasure!
Jessica, your effort gained pride of place through its own bidding! I'll gradually experiment and get these photos to behave themselves and do my bidding!

Happy quilting everyone, and have a great weekend.

Thursday 29th May

Hi everyone. Elva here.
Started with a smallish group this morning, and gradually became a full house! Good to see. We had a Show meeting before getting down to work. All preparations coming along well. Only four cards still outstanding. Duty rosters will be out soon, so sign up for jobs!

Don't forget next week is Community Day. Plenty of work to catch up on and help out with.

Special thanks to those who provided morning tea. Looked wonderful! Thanks also to those who have offered to do next week at short notice. Best wishes to all members who are feeling poorly at the moment. Our thoughts are with you. Hope to see you back soon.

Some beauties at show and tell this week. I will attempt to display them below. Here goes!

A baby quilt by Janet and above a Jessica project. Below an almost completed quilt by Judy and a retreat quilt top by Robyn

Thursday 22nd May

Well done Elva! You managed.
These are the photo's belonging to the Show an Tell Elva writes about.

Susan H. made this lovely Wagga as a sample for the wagga kits and wagga patterns we will be selling at our Quilt Show!

Jenny has put all her blocks, made at the retreat, together!
And has started to fill some holes.

Ros has put her quilt top together.

So has Narelle

Susan H. started with strips she was given by Moina. She also had some Kaffe Fassett jelly roll strips. She worked hard at the retreat. Besides this top she has been wiring on some beautiful bags, we will be selling at the Quilt Show if not sold out prior.

Then there was this production line of cod quilts going on.

Hi everyone. Elva here. At last I'm able to contribute to the blog. Hooray!
Once again a special thanks and congratulations to Kerry for all her hard preparatory work
and her caring attention to everyone's comfort during the retreat last weekend.
An extremely successful and enjoyable few days.
The display of work achieved through the retreat was much admired last Thursday. That
just goes to show we didn't spend the whole three days eating and drinking!

Don't forget to look up 'Cotton Factory' (Ballarat Vic) on the internet. They just opened last week.
Lots of lovely things and fabric to see.

I will send a card thanking C Clarke for the six boxes of fabric donated last week. Wow, it
disappeared so fast! Just like a plague of locusts!
Enjoy you weekend all.

Thursday 15th May

Not too big a crowd today.
But those present are buzzing as always.
Although Elva thinks we are quiet today!

Elva went to a community event of Hunters Hill
Our Community quilt donation was used as a lucky door price.
Mr Wong won the price, he was very happy with it!

Tomorrow is the start of our retreat.
Don't forget to bring,
3 fat quarters and/or reels.

Mother's Day Thursday

What a special day it was today!
It was our due date for the Playing Cards.
Almost the whole deck of cards was hanging around the hall.
Jenny is very positive that todays missing cards will be present at our show.
So I will only give you a very small peek into this challenge.
If you want to see them all come to our show,

Next week we will have our retreat up in the Blue Mountains.
We are pretty excited about that.
In case you want to have a bit of a play.
Jessica will bring her collections of stamps, if you can bring some fabric paint and some fabrics to print on! We can have some fun.

Last week we worked on Made Fabric.
This photo shows our collaborated work.

Today we had a visitor from Queensland.
She has been a longtime member, before she move to Queensland in 2006.
Cate rejoined us today. She even brought a quilt to show.
It was great to see you.

Then we had some baby quilts.
For those keen on making some and going to the retreat.
Robyn prepared some kits ready to go, only need sewing and quilting!

Jenny
Moina

Next to show is another collaboration.
Laurel bought a nice piece of fabric at swap day at MO.
Grace fought of a nice T-block and together with the girls of the orange group they put together this lovely quilt.

This beautiful starry quilt is made by Marie K.

Deborah treated herself with a great workshop with Helen Godden over the ANZAC weekend.
It's all about painting and quilting!
Isn't it amazing.

Happy Mother's Day

First of May, Labour Day

We had a real working bee going on this Labour Day!
Jessica is in charge to organise workshops.
This community day was used to do a workshop on" Made Fabric" inspired by Victoria Findlay Wolfe. Helena did Victoria"s workshop last year, organised by Material Obsession.
Helena gave a brief talk about what she had learned at that workshop.

Ready to go

everybody buzzing

Thanks to the work Jessica did up front at home, we have managed to make enough blocks for a "blokey" quilt.
Thank you Jessica and Susan.

Finished blocks

Furthermore there was more going on!
There was the show meeting.
A lot of progress has been made.
Charity is looking good.
