Hi Everyone,

Today we had more ladies return to quilting from our break as we had to setup more tables and chairs throughout the morning. Welcome to Deb, Kerry and Courtney who came to HHQ today - it is always exciting to having new quilters joining our group.

I received a notice the other day regarding the Craft & Quilt Fair which will be held at the ICC Sydney Darling Harbour. The fair will be held on July 15 - 18, 2026 from 10am - 4pm. You can go to the website and purchase early bird tickets for the fair.

Annual General Meeting

Notice to all members our AGM will be held on Thursday 19th February at 12 noon. Please make sure you sign the attendance book or give your apologies to Suzie L if you cannot attend the AGM. 

The Executive Committee will be continuing in their roles for 2026 but we will need to discuss some matters at the AGM so we look forward to your input.

Thank you to all the ladies who are busy making items to sell at our show. 

Grace mentioned today that one of our Raffle quilts has been accepted into the Modern Quilt Show which will be held in March - well done ladies.

At our next Show meeting we will be looking at the conditions of entry form to make sure all the information is still relevant.

Christmas Challenge 

This year’s challenge is to make an 8.5”x 8.5” (to make a 8” x 8” block) square block in bright colours with white if it is in the design of your fabric. You can choose your own pattern/design anything is acceptable- appliqué, hand or machine stitch your block. Due back by 19th February.

Hi Everyone, 

Welcome to 2026 and an exciting and busy year at quilting. 

In case you have missed previous posts in August of 2026 we will be holding our Quilt Show, so each week at quilting Grace will be updating us with information. The Town Hall is booked, lighting has been organised, frames have been reserved, and food for the Cafe is planned. There are so many pieces to the puzzle to bring together with the guidance of our Show Committee and team of coordinators. We need every member to help out by volunteering your time for the show weekend. Many of you have been quietly working at making items for Stage Sales and Waggas and I thank you for your dedication in helping to make our show a success and to be an inclusive part of our local community.

🎉 Happy Birthday 🎉 to the ladies who celebrate their birthday in January - wishing you many happy returns for your special day.

4th December Christmas Party

Hi Everyone,

Today was our Christmas Party and our last meeting day for 2025. It has been a busy year and our group has completed many projects especially our 2 raffle quilts for our 2026 Quilt Show.

Thank you to all our members who have made this a memorable year and a time to share family stories or the latest local gossip. I enjoy Thursdays not only for the quilting and learning new techniques but also for the friendships with my fellow quilters.

The food and beverages were fabulous and thank you to Narelle for organising the beverages and making the cranberry punch.

When I asked the ladies if they were “ready to rumble” to play our game I never thought that Pass the Parcel could be so loud with laughter or dare I say creative with seat swapping. You are never too old to play games.

Sue D won a prize for coming to the party with her completed Christmas Challenge. For the rest of us it is not due until February.

Hi Everyone,

Today at quilting was another productive day with our members working on their individual and group projects. There was plenty of conversations and laughter heard during our time together. I feel that our group could solve many problems that we face with day to day life.

I am sorry to hear that one of our members had a large tree limb crash onto her roof owing to Wednesdays storm and that the damage and mess has been cleared.

Our Christmas party is next week so I look forward to seeing as many members attending for some fun and games.

Hi Everyone, 

Today I was feeling up to attending quilting and was happy to be back. We are heading to the end of our year so just a few reminders - next week 27th will be our last sewing day at the hall. Suggestions have been made regarding our Christmas Challenge so full details will be handed out over the next couple of weeks.

It always amazes me what our members achieve and today marks a special mile stone for Carolyn who has made 800 baby quilts over the years we have been providing them for the NICU babies at Westmead and RPA. Thank you Carolyn for such an outstanding achievement on behalf of our group.

Although I wasn’t at quilting today my trusty VP visited me and gave me all the gossip. Don’t forget to put our Christmas Party in your diary - it is always a fun time at quilting.

Helen has been busy with embroidering her granddaughter’s shoes which she ensures us is easy to do.

Hi Everyone,

Today at quilting we were smaller in numbers but everyone was busy stitching. The A team under the watchful eye of Iris were making hexagons for their next group project - no pressure Jenny and Robyn S. There is always plenty of chatter and laughter at each of the tables so it makes our time at quilting pass quickly and always enjoyable. It was wonderful to see Carolyn who had a quick visit and of course dropped off 10 baby quilts to add to our supply for Little Wonders @ RPA.

I hope everyone has started their quilt for our 2026 show! Grace reminded us today that you can enter a Collaborative or Group quilt into the show and you can enter up to 2 quilts per person. If anyone is looking for inspiration in making a Wagga Grace has left the Wagga history book in the Wagga cupboard. The folder contains designs, pictures and patterns for you to use or you can adapt for an individual and unique Wagga.

To the ladies who are travelling north, south or west over the next couple of weeks we look forward to hearing about your holiday on your return. Enjoy your time away.

Hi Everyone,

Today at quilting we had Laura and Sophie from WAGEC visit to tell us of the work of their organisation, and we are excited to support WAGEC at our 2026 Quilt Show. 

WAGEC supports women impacted by domestic violence and homelessness. They offer a range of therapeutic support to women and children to promote recovery and healing from the impacts of trauma, domestic and family violence and adverse life experiences. Support is tailored to the needs of the women and children living in their crisis and transitional housing accommodation. WAGEC provides support in parenting and child attachment programs, therapeutic and psycho-educational group work, art therapy and trauma informed yoga.

We were pleased to donate 7 quilts and 1 baby tummy time quilt to add some colour and handmade love to a refuge home. Thank you Laura and Sophie for your time and professional presentation to HHQ.
