We were a small group this week with members enjoying the school holidays with their families but there was still a lot happening.

We were visited by Moina’s daughter, Jenny, with donations from Moina’s stash including drunkard’s path, clamshell and toile blocks to be completed as community projects.

We were sad to hear that Audrey, our former president and treasurer from 2005 - 2010, passed away last week after a long illness.

Raffle Quilt Workshop

Kathy has designed the raffle quilt for the 2026 show and we will make a start next week. If you have a portable sewing machine please bring it with you. If you prefer appliqué bring the tools required especially glue sticks, thread and needles, mini irons and cutters. The fabric will be supplied.

It will be donated to our community collection.

Please consider volunteering to help at the Craft & Quilt Fair - there is a sign up sheet at quilting. We need 4 volunteers per day.

Mid Week Retreat

Our mid week Retreat is at North Ryde RSL Club, 27-41 Magdala Road, North Ryde on Tuesday and Wednesday 9th - 10th September from 10am - 5pm. The cost is $150 and this will include morning tea and lunch for both days. On Tuesday 9th it has been suggested that we have dinner together at the club - this will be at your own expense.

Quilt Thursday May 1 is an important date for your diary - it is the day entries open for the 2025 Sydney Quilt Show. You will have until 5pm on Sunday 25th May to enter your quilts.

To enter, you need to be a current QuiltNSW member and your quilt top needs to be finished. You will have until the end of July to finish the quilting and binding before delivering it to your drop-off volunteer who will get it to judging day and then it’s on to the exhibition.

You can enter a maximum of two quilts.

Wishing you a Happy Easter

Today at quilting we displayed our new sign advertising Hunters Hill Quilters which will be heading to Darling Harbour to the Sydney Craft & Quilt Fair in June.

Congratulations to Heather on her Second place for the quilt she entered into this year’s Royal Easter Show. Heather’s quilt is in the centre of the picture below, and she has promised to bring it into quilting with the ribbon after the show.

Hi Everyone,

We had another busy day at quilting today with the continuation of our raffle Wagga - no photos as we want it to be a surprise. It was great to be able to catch up with Hayley today and to hear all her news. You can see the quilt Hayley has made out of batik fabric in Show & Tell.

We placed our order for our pull-up banner today for us to have at our booth at the Sydney Craft & Quilt Fair in June. Thank you to Deb, Alison and Suzie who worked on this project.

Last year at our Retreat Ann won the fun game of Strip Poker using jelly roll strips and how do you use all this fabric? Ann made book marks for our Show from her precious stash of jelly roll fabrics - look at the photo in Show Chatter.

🥳 Happy Birthday to the ladies who celebrate their birthday in April 🥳. I hope you enjoy your special day.

3rd April Community Day

Hi Everyone,

Today was a busy Community Day at quilting. Grace organised our Wagga workshop like a well oiled machine, with clear instructions we divided into groups and we were off and running. It was amazing what was accomplished in one day. Thank you to everyone who helped out today.

Update on the Book marks made by Heather and Marie K

Deb T purchased wadding for our baby quilts last week and the ladies wasted no time in cutting the wadding to the correct size. It is all stored in the cupboard ready for the baby quilt tops to be made.
