Hi Everyone, 

Thank you to the ladies who braved the wet weather today. I think we are all sick of the rain. Although we were smaller in number we enjoyed our time together. 

Our Retreat at the North Ryde RSL is coming together with thanks to Narelle at the helm. We will be taking the orphan block box with us, however if you would like some inspiration feel free to delve deep into the box at quilting before the Retreat. I hope everyone replied if they will be attending the dinner on Tuesday night? If not please notify Narelle. Helen will also be leading us through a workshop and all the supplies, fabrics etc will be provided - a sewing machine is required for this project.

We all know the saying “you can’t stop a good woman” well Ann has finished a Wagga to be sold at our 2026 Quilt Show and said she is happy to make another one. Go for it Ann! If you would like to make a Wagga - Grace will be happy to advise and assist you.

Retreat

9th - 10th September from 10am - 5pm.

Hi Everyone,

Today at quilting we had a visit from Gill’s daughter Alex who kindly donated her Mum’s fabric stash to our group. Gill was a Wagga Queen and we have been fortunate enough to replenish our fabric supplies in the Wagga cupboard thanks to her donation, so have a go at making a Wagga. If you need any ideas or help you can talk to Grace.

Some of the fabric that is donated to us is redirected to Days for Girls and today Alison showed us a completed kit that is sent overseas. Recently Days for Girls were asked to supply kits to a primary school in the inner west - we are fortunate to have such an organisation that will help those in need. Thank you to the ladies from HHQ who volunteer their time and sewing skills to Days for Girls.

7th August Community Day

Hi Everyone,

Today was Community Day at quilting and the ladies were busy with their group quilts - it is such a privilege to work along side these creative women. 

It is satisfying that our group can support other Community groups and today we donated 2 quilts to the Zonta group to raffle at their fundraiser. Thank you to Robyn J who hand pieced and hand quilted the quilts. We wish the Zonta group all the best in their fundraising endeavours.

Deb T gathered 40 Baby quilts for Little Wonder @ RPA to distribute to the families who have a child in the NICU on Father’s Day. Thanks to Olivia for her dedication to Little Wonder.
