Annual General Meeting

Quilt Show Update

175 days till our show.

Our show judge Brenda Colahan has confirmed her time to judge the quilts on Thursday 1st August at 2pm. Brenda will be back for our show opening on Friday 2nd to hand out prizes to our winners at 11am.

1st February Community Day

Hi Everyone,

Our first Community Day for 2024 was today and as per usual we were a busy group. Grace lead our Table Runner workshop with fabric from our community stash - our members assembled their runner called Christmas Tree table runner by Kathy Doughty (kits are available from Material Obsession www.materialobsession.com.au).

Community News 

Today Jane gathered 40 baby quilts to be delivered to Olivia for Little Wonder @ RPA to be handed out on Valentine’s Day.

Our Pink Group completed a hexagon design cover for a wheelchair for a resident at a local nursing home.

Quilt Show Update

6 months or 182 days today until our Quilt Show!! I know the 1st August is bump in day and the show will officially open on Friday 2nd but I am now adding in a countdown calendar and updates of important dates.

Hi Everyone,

Today we had a quieter day at quilting with members taking advantage of the long weekend and the end of school holidays.

Annual General Meeting

We will be holding our Annual General Meeting on Thursday 15th February. The Vice President’s position is vacant. If you would like to volunteer to be on the Management committee and would like to find out more information please come and see me.

Community Day

Next Thursday we are holding a workshop making a Table Runner under the tutelage of Kathy. Please bring fabric in Christmas fabrics and sewing thread. I will send out more details on our group chat.

At our Retreat last year Ann made it her mission to sort through our orphan block box has completed 4 Baby quilts and 1 Cot quilt. Thank you Ann for taking up the challenge of the orphan box.

 Hi Everyone,

Welcome back to quilting and I hope you had a relaxing time over the Christmas and New Year period. We were a smaller group today who braved the heat but we enjoyed our catch up and especially the news of the safe arrivals of new grandchildren and great grandchildren since we last met.

2024 looks like another busy year with our Show in August and our Retreat booked for September at Kincumber. During our break from meetings our members have been busy sewing as you will see in Show & Tell.

Happy Birthday to our ladies who celebrate their birthday in January and we wish you many happy returns for your special day.

7th December Christmas Party Day

Hi Everyone,

Wishing you and your family all the best for the Festive Season

Thank you to everyone who attended our Christmas Party today especially those who travelled down from the Central Coast and up from the Southern Highlands. It was wonderful to catch up with you all and enjoy our special lunch together. To have our completed Raffle and Judges gift quilts hanging up in the hall was an amazing achievement by our members.

Hi Everyone,

Today was our second last meeting of the year, where has the time gone?

Jane has been busy sorting the quilts to be delivered to Bear Cottage at Manly and the Women’s Refuge in Taree which will be delivered next week. We have a challenge to provide 40 baby quilts for Little Wonder RPA for Valentine’s Day ❤ next year so feel free to create something for this special occasion over the Christmas break.

Hi Everyone,

Thanks to everyone who came to quilting today it was another fabulous day. World Prematurity Day was held last week and we received a message from Olivia thanking us for the baby quilts and said they were lovingly received. Jane bagged 40 baby quilts ready to be delivered to Little Wonder at RPA for Christmas.

Next week Christie will be showing us her ceramics she has made and they are also for sale. If you are looking for gift ideas for Christmas this is your opportunity.

Show News

Don’t forget to volunteer and fill a vital role in our show’s organisation team. We are organising for our Community Days in February, March and April to focus on making stock for our stage sales at the Show.

At our next show meeting we will be looking at our Quilt Show Entry Form and the conditions of entering a quilt in the show. 

The gift for our Show Judge will be on display at our Christmas Party along with the two Raffle Quilts.
