Hi Everyone,

Can you believe this is the last week of March - where does the month go! Hand sewing was the main activity today at quilting and it is exciting seeing projects develop and grow. Christie has made bibs for our show and they are stunning - all are Australian themed. If you have the need for a cute Bilby or Cockatoo or a Kangaroo with her Joey bib these are ideal gifts especially for a little one living overseas.

Next week is Community Day and we will be organising Raffle Tickets for our members to sell. If you would like to help with the recording of tickets, writing on envelopes to help please see Grace or Sandy.

Hi Everyone, 

Today at quilting we welcomed back Jane who had surgery and Kathy who has been teaching in the US. Deb U continued with the 5” squares rolling them into bundles and organising storage containers. After a bit of fabric sorting the cupboards are now looking neat and well organised making room for more Stage Sale items to be stored. Heather continues to make amazing bags to hold all your sewing essentials to be sold at our Quilt Show.

Please remember to pay your membership fees before the 31st March. A receipt will be emailed to you when you have paid.

Kathy’s new fabric range is called Camouflage and today she was embroidering a panel that compliments her fabric range.

Hi Everyone,

Today at quilting we stepped out of our comfort zone and changed the arrangement of the tables. No need for anyone to panic as we all sat next to our quilting buddies so there wasn’t a total meltdown. There was plenty of great conversation at every table and I think we can call it a successful day.

Narelle had a busy week cutting and bundling 5” square plus making a lipstick holder keychains to be sold at our Quilt Show.

This weekend is the Modern Quilt Show to be held at Petersham Town Hall 107 Crystal St Petersham 10am - 4:30pm $15 entry. Dates 13th -15th March.

Hi Everyone,

Welcome to a new season and I am looking forward to cooler days and nights although today still felt like summer. We are all systems go in preparation for our Quilt Show and today was no exception with a group cutting 5” squares to make fabric bundles. Other groups continued working on quilts for Community, finding fabric for quilt backs and sorting through our vast collection of fabrics.

If you are looking at attending a workshop can I make a suggestion:

Chris Jurd - Foundation Piecing 10am - 2pm at Material Obsession, Saturday classes 28th March, 20 June and 10th October - Cost $70 per class.

Kathy D - Appliqué 10am - 2pm at Material Obsession, Friday & Saturday classes 15th -16th May and 20th - 21st November - Cost $70 per class.

Hi Everyone,

Today at quilting our members were busy stitching, cutting fabric or hand tying a Wagga - it was another productive day. We also decided on the gift for our show judge which will be presented to Deputy Mayor Julia Prieston on Thursday 20th August. Thank you to all the ladies who helped with the making of this gift and to Kerry undertaking sewing all the blocks together.

The Quilt Show is getting closer and just a reminder that you will receive a book of Raffle tickets to sell, a commitment from members to add your name to the Rosters and the making of delectable Food for the Kitchen. Further details to follow.

Blue Mountains Quilters are holding their 2026 show on 17th - 19th April at Wycliffe Christian School, 133 Rickard Road, Warrimoo. If any members are interested in attending we should organise a train journey to the show or we could car pool? Come and see me at quilting and we could start up a list.
