23rd October

Hi Everyone,

Today at quilting we had Laura and Sophie from WAGEC visit to tell us of the work of their organisation, and we are excited to support WAGEC at our 2026 Quilt Show.
WAGEC supports women impacted by domestic violence and homelessness. They offer a range of therapeutic support to women and children to promote recovery and healing from the impacts of trauma, domestic and family violence and adverse life experiences. Support is tailored to the needs of the women and children living in their crisis and transitional housing accommodation. WAGEC provides support in parenting and child attachment programs, therapeutic and psycho-educational group work, art therapy and trauma informed yoga.
We were pleased to donate 7 quilts and 1 baby tummy time quilt to add some colour and handmade love to a refuge home. Thank you Laura and Sophie for your time and professional presentation to HHQ.

16th October

Hi Everyone,

Sorry for the delay in posting the blog but owing to technical difficulties that were beyond my control it can finally be posted today.

We had a quick Show Committee Meeting at quilting so we could address a couple of issues. Grace suggested we enter our 2 Raffle quilts at the Modern Quilt Show next year in the category of Collaborative or Group quilts. This will help to advertise HHQ and interest in purchasing raffle tickets at our 2026 Quilt Show. The cost to enter the quilts is $50 and we agreed to go ahead and enter the quilts into the MQ show.

WAGEC Visit
This week at 10:30am we will be visited by Laura who will be speaking to us about WAGEC. Please arrive at quilting early so you don’t miss Laura’s talk.

9th October

Hi Everyone,

Today we had an amazing display of ceramics from Christie which we were able to purchase. Once again Christie showed us her talent and creativity - apart from being a quilter she does embroidery and paints. Thank you Christie for making available your ceramics for us to enjoy at quilting and we wish you all the best on the upcoming family wedding.

Kerry and Grace were busy pinning Kerry’s Wagga which will be on sale at our 2026 Quilt Show. Now for the fun bit of quilting the Wagga. We look forward to seeing it completed.

WAGEC Visit
In two weeks time - 23rd October we will be visited by Laura who will be speaking to us about WAGEC and informing us about the organisation.

2nd October Community Day

Hi Everyone,

Can you believe we have arrived into October - it only seems like yesterday we were welcoming the first day of Spring. I hope you all enjoyed the long weekend and the beginning of daylight savings - summer is on its way.

As per usual our ladies were busy either working on community quilts or participating in the workshop.

Next week at quilting Christie will be holding her annual ceramic sale. A great time to purchase a gift/s for Christmas, which is only 13 weeks away.

🥳 Happy Birthday to the ladies who celebrate their birthday in October 🥳. I hope you enjoy your special day.

Thanks to Grace who had us busy creating our disappearing pinwheel block at our workshop today. Thank you Grace for all your preparation and guidance.

Grace made this quilt and it will be donated to Community
